NADESICO THE MOVIE

Program Book

Sold in the theaters in Japan during the run of the movie in the fall of 1998, this book has become difficult to acquire; size = 9.5" x 12". This page will provide a look inside; and as this is written in Japanese, much of the contents remain a mystery to me as well...

The book is mostly printed on heavy non-gloss paper. Immediately inside the cover are two high gloss double sided fold-out posters of Ruri. The first is Ruri in her red sweater and white skirt; reverse, Ruri at the helm of Nadesico. The second is Ruri TV and Movie standing side by side; reverse, same as the movie theater poster (no text).

The next two pages have a painted pic of a woman and some text that I will not pretend to decipher. The following eight pages contain over one-hundred color screen frames of various sizes, with a very little text. 

The next two pages have pics of the seiyuu and brief profiles on some of the main cast.

The next page is a two page wide group shot of Yurika and Akito's wedding. The four pages after are character profiles with mini pics of each, followed by a two page wide mecha pic. The next four pages give info on all the mecha in the movie, with mini pics of each. The following two pages are entitled Dictionary for the Movie.

The next four pages contain an interview of Minami Omi, with five pics which I added to her info page. The four pages after is an interview with Goto Keiji (his pic can be seen at the main Studio page, back) with a nice sketch each of Yurika and Ruri.

The next two pages contain a time-line breakdown running from 2178 through 2201; content unknown. Following, is the same story and pics contained in the booklet that comes with the movie music CD box-set. The next two pages are full page pics of Ruri; the first in her black dress like the pencilboard, and the second of her sitting in the captains chair like my movie promo poster (no text on either).

The six pages that follow is an interview (with pics) with Sato Tatsuo, after which are two pages on the making of the movie with more mini pics. The next page is a complete staff list, text only. The page opposite that is a pic of Ruri (I'm not sure what you would call the style this is done in).

The next two pages list, and show, many collectables for the movie, some of which I've never seen for sale, such as a Ruri Zippo lighter and Nadesico T-shirts. The last page is an ad for PlayStation and DoubleCast.
